Most public offices, services closed for Memorial Day

Government offices, banks and some businesses will be closed Monday for Memorial Day. City, county, state and federal government offices will reopen Tuesday.

Parking meters won't be enforced Monday, and Rochester City Lines buses won't run. Post offices will be closed, and there won't be mail delivery.

Rochester Public Library will begin its shortened summer weekend hours on Saturday. It will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturdays and closed on Sundays during the summer. It will be closed Monday for Memorial Day.

The Rochester Recreation Center will be closed, and the city's outdoor pools don't open until June 9 for Soldiers Field and June 11 for Silver Lake. The beach at Foster-Arend Park opens Saturday. Municipal golf courses will be open regular hours.

Apache Mall in Rochester will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Refuse companies will likely follow holiday schedules, meaning pushing back collections one day.

The Post-Bulletin will be published and delivered on Monday morning for the holiday, but regular afternoon delivery returns on Tuesday.
